Style Time

Hello again

Have you been good to your hair lately? If you have it’s alright to take out the curling irons, flat irons, etc… for a day of styling. Yay! I’m not a fan of using heat appliances on the hair everyday due to the great damage they can do but, if you use them sparingly it’s fine. Today my hairstyle will be flip-curls. I LOVE FLIP CURLS. If you know me, you probably know that I used to wear my hair like this all the time like it was going out of style. I had to cut back on it though because applying frequent heat to your hair will only cause breakage, not only leaving you sad but, leaving your hair behind in your curling iron. It’s Saturday and I’ve been pretty good with neglecting my heat tools, so it’s time to get glam for the weekend and I am breaking out the flips. My tool of choice is my FHI Heat Platform Domed Styling Iron $195 www.fhiheat.com

The domed plates and rounded corners makes curls, flips, and spirals fast and easy. I divide my hair into 3 layers top, middle, and bottom and start curling each section rotating my wrists in an upward counterclockwise direction for the left half of my head, and an upward clockwise direction for the right half of my head. Voila! There you have it.

  1. I love the flips!! They look fab. I have been cutting down on the flat ironing too, only using it to fix a strand or two that fell out of the wrap overnight. Can you do a post on spiral curls using the flat iron? I love the look but can't work my wrist to get the curl right. Would love your expertise on that! Thanks for the tips. xx
